Canada Study Fees: How Much Does It Cost?

While applying for a Canada visa, the application cost can range from anywhere between C$50 to C$250. However, you will have to pay costs for documentation, language tests, visa & biometrics, and tuition fees to gain a student visa.

Altogether the cost of studying in Canada can range anywhere between C$20,000 to C$30,000 starting from the early days of application till the end day of receiving the visa.

English Language Proficiency Test (IELTS: C$251, PTE: C$253, or TOEFL: C$253)

To apply for a Canada visa, you can opt to go through any of the language tests; IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL. While most countries do accept Duolingo, we do not recommend it for Canadian applications as it may create problems with immigration.

Application Cost (C$50 to C$250)

After you have your choice of university and program, you will need to start filling out your application form which you find at the corresponding Canadian embassy or with the help of education experts.

Now, as you sign the form and are ready to submit your student visa application, you will be required to pay the visa fee and its cost ranges from C$50 to C$250.

Visa & Biometrics (C$150+C$85 = C$235)

Right after, you must pay a processing fee and a biometric fee. These are non-refundable and you can pay for them online.

As you have made the payment, it is crucial to print out the receipt and attach a copy of the receipt to the rest of your documents.

Extra Cost During Application

Apart from these payments, you will also be spending during the documentation process and you have yet to pay for the tuition fees. Generally, the documentation will cost you around C$105.70 while the tuition fees can range from anywhere between C$10-19k for college programs or 10-25k for university programs.
